Wanderers B 1 v Matamata Reserves 4

The Swifts Reserves good form continued as they recorded a convincing away win against Wanderers B.

The home team's good defensive record took a hammering as the Swifts scored two goals in each half. Adam Graham took advantage of a defensive lapse to open the scoring while Scott Hudson scored the second when the ball sat up nicely for his strike.

Wanderers had their moments and just before half time pulled a goal back although it did have a helping hand from a Swifts defender.

The second half was predominantly the Swifts as they nullified most of the attacks, giving keeper Justin Read a quiet time. Chris Bedford down the left flank made more than a few telling forays and only the sticky conditions stopped Adam Graham making more of the Swifts advantage.

Rob Cox had a forceful game in midfield and Malcolm Raynel had a memorable return to the side after more than a few years absence.

An inswinging corner from Chris Bedford, which deceived the Wanderers keeper, and an expertly taken goal by Adam Graham enabled the Swifts to finish the game in style.

The Swifts player of the day was Floyd Emson with an inspired performance at centreback.
