Matamata Reserves 5 v Claudelands B 1
Lulled by summer conditions at the Domain on Saturday the Swifts
reserves got of to a slow start in their last home game of the season.
But they didn't disappoint their fans as they racked up their biggest
win of the season.
Not
much seemed to go right in the first half and a fortunate rebound gave
the visitors the opening for the first goal.
Down one-nil at the break the Swifts soon stepped up a gear with Adam
Graham (pictured) scoring in a one on one situation, Scott Hudson thumping
the ball home for the second, Adam Graham had another one on one for goal
three, then completed his hat trick with a shot on the turn. Alan Tappin,
following a well timed, run coolly stroked the ball home for the fifth
goal.
In between the Swifts hit the crossbar twice and the visitors keeper pulled
off a number of good saves to keep the score respectable.
Scott Hudson and Robert Cox in midfield were creating the opportunities,
Chris Bedford and Joel Chamberlain were busy on the flanks, with plenty
of room in the second half, while the defence, after weathering the first
half, had a more comfortable ride after the break.
Other results
To come.
