Matamata Swifts 'A' had had a good win and a good work out on the newly configured Matamata Domain number 2 field. The surface was rough in patches, but didn't stop Andrew Clothier from scoring early to set the team on their way to a good victory.

Clothier was joined on the score sheet by Hayri Cihan, back in the Swifts colours after a year's absence, Andrew Taylor and Blair Van Waveren.

This performance, couple with the one down in Ngongotaha, will give the Swifts coaching staff of Duncan Lowry and Marcelo Marquez a real headache when it comes to naming a squad to go to Te Awamutu for the Swifts' season opening Federation League division 1 fixture.
