Sunday
afternoon at the local soccer club seems to be the place to be.
With the biggest crowd to date showing up to watch the 3rd team,
they stood up and took control for a well deserved win.
After
battling down and getting over a hard fought match last week, Matamata
took control in warm conditions. Changing the team around a little
seems to make some improvement to the side, with the hole in midfield
being closed right up.
With the opponents looking strong through the whole game they were
unlucky with that goal that never came thanks to the strong Matamata
defence and tight midfield.
Goalie Dave played surperbly making some cracking one on one saves
when the opponants did get a break so he'll holds his position another
week.
Player of the day Sandy was aggressive with every play he makes
helping the team to victory. Some interesting goals made the team
a little secure at halftime and finishing in the second half was
the icing on the cake.
Jason came close a couple of times hitting the woodwork and kicking
his other boot, while Joe up front, when looking to finish, never
disappoints. Pete and Adam at the back both had brilliant communication
with Dave and played the ball out wide for the midfield to attack.
Goal Scorers: Joe 2, Scott, Jason and Chris.
