Matamata
sportsmanship came to light on Sunday when our opposition turned up
2 players short of fielding a full team. Mike and Adam B willingly
awaiting to jump ship changed shirts for the occasion and played for
opposition.
With Mike being put up front as striker for Chutney Lockers, the sparkle
soon gleamed in his eye and they lit up when he put slotted a goal
past Matamata's keeper in style and got what was to be Chutney's only
goal on the day. Matamata were all getting very annoyed by the end
of the first half as they just didn't seem to be able to put together
a game of football and make any impression on their opposition.
This sort of play continued into second half, then some tired, heated
bodies came off the pitch halfway through the second half and Matamata
settled down and the goals came and some better football was played,
seeing Bevan get a hat-trick.
So smiles once again on the lads faces (well most). Player of the
day went to Bevan for a terrific ability to shine.
