The awards keep coming
Two Matamata players have collected league player of the year awards for the 2009 season. Challenge Matamata Swifts Ladies player of the year, Natalie Gaskell, has been named player of the year in the Ladies Federation Plate competition. Gaskell was also the top scorer in that competition.
The Swifts 3rds completed their excellent debut season with the naming of player/manager, Chris Bedford, as the Waikato Division E player of the year. The 3rd's leading scorer, Jamie Cox, finished 4th behind Bedford and two Hamilton North Players.
Grant Cooper finished 2nd behind Taupo's Mark Jones in the Federation League's player of the year voting, while Blair Van Waveren was 2nd in the Federation League division 2 voting.
Well done to all these players.
And, in case you hadn't heard...we won the Waikato Bay of Plenty Federation League
